For Mac users, you can find your IP address by opening up the Terminal program.  When Terminal is open type in ”ifconfig” at the prompt. Once you have located your IP Address information, type in “Exit” and the Terminal process will end.  Now just close the program in the usual manner (x). (Terminal is located in Applications, under the Utilities folder.)

How to Convert A PDF To A Word Document Using Adobe Reader

Have you ever created a PDF and then needed to send it to someone who uses Microsoft Word as his or her primary office tool?  It isn’t really an issue for either party, as you can you edit your PDF easily and convert it to a Microsoft Word document.

First of all you need to open Adobe Reader 10.1.3 or above.  Next, open the PDF you want to export to Word.  Now navigate to the Reader toolbar and locate the Convert PDF icon.  This will open the Tools pane.  Now an Export PDF files panel will appear. Choose Microsoft Word or Microsoft Excel for Convert To.  Please note: If the document contains scanned text in another language, you need to click Change, select the language in the OCR Settings dialog box and then click OK. Finally click Convert.

If you are unable to see the Convert PDF icon or it is not in your toolbar, just right-click the toolbar and then choose File > Convert PDF To Word Online. You can convert PDFs to Microsoft Word (or Excel for that matter), by using Adobe Export PDF.  This is a web-based service that is available on Acrobat.com.

If you have a subscription to Adobe, then you just have to sign in, enter your e-mail address and password in the usual fashion and then click Sign In.  When you see the Completed message appear in the Tools pane, simply click Save Converted File.  In the Save As dialog box, navigate  to the location where you want to save the document, enter a file name, and click Save.  That’s it!

First of all you need to download a subtitle file for your movie. If your source was a DVD or Blu-ray file, please make sure to search for a subtitle file that matches that particular media type. This will ensure good audio/subtitle syncing. As a general rule of thumb, you should look for a subtitle with a file name, which closely resembles the video file you have.

The most common file type for subtitles is .srt .  There are lots of websites that provide .srt files for subtitles.  Why not check out AllSubs.org to get you started.

Once you have downloaded the file, now you want to move the subtitle file into the same folder as your video file.

Next, rename the subtitle file with exactly the same name as your video file, so you have two files such as; samplevideo.avi and samplevideo.srt.

That’s it.  Now you can play your video in VLC Player and  you should see subtitles appear over your movie. If for any reason you don’t, then check the .srt file has been renamed correctly to match the video file. Now just close and restart VLC before playing the file again.

It isn’t very difficult to create and play Blu-ray ISO image files on a Media PC.  If you don’t know what to do this is a quick guide to help you out.  First of all you will need a powerful enough Media PC that is hooked up to a HDTV and a Virtual Drive setup and media player software such as PowerDVD.

Step 1: Add Blu-ray ISO image.
Download and install Daemon Tools Lite.  Once installed run the application and Click the plus icon to add the Blu-ray ISO file into virtual drive: Select the ISO file you want and then click “Open”.

Step 2: Mount Blu-ray ISO image to a virtual drive.
Right click on the file name and select ‘Mount’ then ‘Device’.

Step 3: Find Blu-ray ISO image file in the virtual drive.
After the Blu-ray ISO image file is mounted into virtual drive now click close. The ISO image file will show in your BD-Rom Drive.

Step 4. Play the Blu-ray ISO image file from the virtual drive.
All you need to do now is use a media player like PowerDVD to play the file.  PowerDVD is a quality application for Blu-ray playback on a Media PC. You can use it to open the Blu-ray ISO image files from your virtual drive and play it just like standard Blu-ray disc.

     Open the QoS (Quality of Service) settings if your router has them available. The primary settings to modify are the Uplink and Downlink fields. After enabling QoS, lower the numbers in these fields until QoS takes effect.
